How do i set up Postfix with Thunderbird?

Posted on February 2, 2015

Hello there my friends. I really am new to this stuff, but what needs to be done, needs to be done.

I have active droplet running Ubuntu and i installed postfix on it. Somehow i managed to send mail via console with sendmail function, but i receive my mail in junk folder and it comes from a website root@domain.com and without a subject. That sucks. :(

So , i wanted to know, how i can create a simple e-mail adress, in my case submit@tribalwolvesnetwork.com , because i own that domain name and easily use it with Thunderbird? In that case i would be able to easily send and receive my mail via program.

Thanks.

Sounds like your postfix is not properly setup. Here is a TUTORIAL on how to do it.

Also once you have postfix properly setup you will need to install and IMAP/POP3 email server, I would recommend Dovecot. Here is a full tutorial on how to configure a mail server using postfix, and dovecot
