Question

How do I setup email IDs like myname@mydomain.com on my hosted domain on ubuntu 14.04?

  • Posted September 13, 2014

Specifically, will using a control panel (like http://sp.parallels.com/products/plesk/) do it OR do I need to set up an email server (like PostFix)? Sorry if this happens to be a naive question (which I am, technically speaking!)

All responses are sincerely appreciated.

I guess both will work !!

Control Panel will install basic services, like apache, email (postfix) and such…

Where as one can manually get the things done

By the way, why choosing a paid panel like plesk when you can get zPanel (now Sentora) ??

Thanks.

Sentora download is available on github but didn’t find any proper site that lists features, support etc., Plesk WebAdmin version is available for $4 per server per month - that’s not too bad for a well-documented & supported panel. I had used it earlier as a customer…so some familiarity too.

Will try the manual way too - thanks for sharing!
