Hi. I just got the $5 server from Digital ocean with Ubuntu, and I can’t figure out how to shh into it with a non root user.
I followed this random user’s answer in the thread here: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/questions/how-to-enable-ssh-access-for-non-root-users
but then I couldn’t login with the root user nor the new user… 🤦♂️

Hello, @DigitalJim
Could you please let me know which is the exact received error message when trying to access your droplet? Can you share the content of the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file?
Are you trying to access the droplet using ssh-key or using PasswordAuthentication ?
You can also access your droplet via the console from the DigitalOcean’s control panel and make sure that everything is running as it should. You can revert the made changes in case something went wrong in order to restore the access to your droplet.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards, Alex
