Can you tell us a bit about your current configuration? DigitalOcean is an unmanaged hosting provider and while we provide several one-click application images that can be a big time saver for setting up web services, we do not provide one for email hosting. I would recommend starting with the following guides and can provide more specific information once I know more about your setup.

  • This guide covers the transfer of your DNS services and domain to use DigitalOcean nameservers.

  • This guide will assist in setting up mail in a box which is a fairly straightforward and complete email hosting option. Before deciding to host your own mail server I’d recommend reading this as well.

When setting up a web site or application under your own domain, it is likely that you will also want a mail server to handle the domain's incoming and outgoing email. While it is possible to run your own mail server, it is often not the best option for a variety of reasons. This guide will cover many of the reasons that you may not want to run your own mail server, and offer a few alternatives.
