How does the transfer pricing work?

I see each droplet has a trtansfer limit. How do we interpret the transfer limit number? Is it total download or total upload, or a sum of both? Assume the transfer limit for a CPU optimised droplet is 5TB. Is it for 24 hours? If yes does it work on a sliding window? What happens if it exceeds 5TB in the window?

In addition to what has already been mentioned, there is a handy bandwidth calculated tool which you can find here:[{"slug"%3A"s-1vcpu-2gb"%2C"type"%3A"droplet"%2C"hours"%3A722%2C"consumption"%3A1500%2C"nodes"%3A1}]&additional=0

The tool helps you calculate and explain bandwidth allowances for Droplets on DigitalOcean.

Hi @sanjmeh,

The Transfer Limit - Bandwidth limit is calculated per month. So to your question, the 5TB Bandwidth would be for a month. Bandwidth counts to both download and upload limits. As for more information, have you checked:

There the information should be presented in the most understandable way with examples.
