how long does it take to secure my site after adding an ssl certificate in account>>security

its been over an hour since I added the certificate from the account settings menu but nothing has happened yet

Hi there,

Once the certificate is installed it should take effect immediately I believe.

However, note that the SSL certificates that you obtain via your DigitalOcean control panel are mainly used for the DigitalOcean Managed Load Balancers and the DigitalOcean Spaces.

If you do not have a Managed Load Balancer, then you need to install your SSL certificate directly on your Droplet.

    I tried to clean cache and I ran Certbot on the droplet and configured the ssl on my domains names with all the steps mentioned in the documentation,i was successful but when I go to my website I am still getting this error
