Hi there,

Once the certificate is installed it should take effect immediately I believe.

However, note that the SSL certificates that you obtain via your DigitalOcean control panel are mainly used for the DigitalOcean Managed Load Balancers and the DigitalOcean Spaces.

If you do not have a Managed Load Balancer, then you need to install your SSL certificate directly on your Droplet.

If you are running Apache, you could follow the steps here:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-secure-apache-with-let-s-encrypt-on-ubuntu-20-04

If you are using Nginx, you could follow the steps here:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-secure-nginx-with-let-s-encrypt-on-ubuntu-20-04

Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Bobby

Let's Encrypt is a Certificate Authority (CA) that facilitates obtaining and installing free TLS/SSL certificates, thereby enabling encrypted HTTPS on web servers. Currently, the entire process of obtaining and installing a certificate is fully automated on both Apache and Nginx with the use of Certbot. In this guide, we'll use Certbot to obtain a free SSL certificate for Apache on Ubuntu 20.04, and make sure this certificate is set up to renew automatically.
  • since I configure the ssl in the control panel my website isn’t loading I’m getting:

I tried to clean cache and I ran Certbot on the droplet and configured the ssl on my domains names with all the steps mentioned in the documentation,i was successful but when I go to my website I am still getting this error
