How multiple droplets share resources

Posted on April 6, 2015

I am new to Digital Ocean. I am just wondering how multiple droplets share resources. In $10 plan, two droplets would cause significant performance loss if each gets 512 MB RAM

This question was answered by @ryanpq:

The pricing plans are per droplet so under the $10 plan you would get one droplet with 1024MB RAM or you could get two droplets on the 512MB plan at $5/month each.

As for performance, droplets are hosted on physical hypervisors and the number of droplets per node will depend on the size of the droplets on that node and whether it is full.
