Hi there,

Regarding your document root, you can find it in your webserver’s configuration file. For example if you are using Nginx, you could check the Nginx server block at /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/your_site.conf.

It would usually look something like this:

    root /var/www/html/;

Then once you know your document root, then inside that directory you have to create the two folders, you can use the following command:

First cd into your document root that you’ve got from your Nginx server block:

  1. cd /var/www/html

Then create the directories:

  1. mkdir -p .well-known/pki-validation/

Then once you have the folder, you can add the filename.txt provided by NameCheap inside the .well-known/pki-validation/ folder.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards, Bobby
