How to access wordpress hosting files?

Hello, I am new to this control panel and am wanting to know how I can access my websites hosting files. I need to make an edit to one of my websites wordpress files and am having trouble getting access to it. I don't remember my ftp login to the site either unfortunately.

How did you install Wordpress? You don't need FTP to access your files. In fact, it is insecure and it's recommended to uninstall your FTP server and use a more secure protocol such as SFTP (which is completely different from FTP).

Your files can be stored anywhere, so it's hard to guess where they are without more info. The two most common paths are:

- /var/www
- /home/wordpress/public_html
