how to add authorized_keys created in Recovery ISO mode to hard drive?

Posted on January 6, 2019

I lost the private key. I logged into the Recovery ISO mode and edited the authorized_key with my generated Public key. I saved it too. Once I booted from the hard drive, the key again changed to its original. How do I save the edited key onto the hard drive mode?

Did you mount the recovered root parition as read/write. If not, do this in recovery before you open authorized_keys and write the new key to it:

mount -o remount,rw /
