let’s assume there are two databases in mongodb. db1 & db2 but when I try to connect with db1 with an user “xyz” using mongodb compass, I can still see db2 and it’s collection. How can I configure that user “xyz” can connect to db1 & user “abc” can connect to db2? is it even possible?

Hi there,
Indeed, this is not yet possible. New MongoDB users will receive the permissions of the
doadmin
user by default. You can’t change these permissions at this time. However, you can create a read-only user using the DigitalOcean API. Currently, you cannot create read-only users via the DigitalOcean Control Panel.
Best,
Bobby
you may need to create specific role to allow each user for accessing the specific db have a look at https://www.mongodb.com/docs/manual/reference/built-in-roles/#database-user-roles
