I want that “subdomain.domain.com” masks and points to an external url like “http://xxx.yyy.com/12345/”. Can you give me a step by step procedure? My droplet is Ubuntu WordPress on 14.04.

You can type !ref in this text area to quickly search our full set of tutorials, documentation & marketplace offerings and insert the link!
You could use something such as:
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName sub.yourdomain.com
RedirectPermanent / http://xxx.yyy.com/12345/
</VirtualHost>
and then restart Apache for the changes to take.
You create a vhost in your webserver configuration that redirects or proxies to your desired URL.
