Use SFTP instead. Filezilla already supports SFTP and it’s setup on the droplet by default. Then you don’t have to worry about how horrible the protocol and security is with FTP.

  • Thank you for your respond
But how can i know the user and password for accessing SFTP?
Are they same with login username and password?

    Thank in advance
    Kind regards.

  • Yes. SFTP accounts are the system accounts, same as you would login via the console or SSH. SFTP is actually a protocol built on top of and using SSH. Usernames and passwords (and SSH keys) would be the same.

  • Thank you so i use my email address and password for digitalocean but what is SSH key and where i can find and place it in filezilla ?

Much appreciate your help and time

  • I’m not familiar enough with Filezilla to know how it handles SSH keys. Your DigitalOcean email and password are not what you need, it’s the system username and passwords for the droplet. The root password should have been emailed to you when you created the droplet if you didn’t add an SSH key.
