How to deal with Google Scholar IP Blocking against SFO VPS?

Posted February 17, 2015 11.9k views

I use shadowsocks to browse websites through my VPS at SFO. However, I cannot visit google scholar. The warning goes as follows:

We’re sorry…

… but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can’t process your request right now.

What should I do?

Google will sometimes block whole ranges of “known datacenter IPs.” For in particular, it is quite common. We work hard to improve the “reputation” of our IP blocks in a number of ways, but unfortunately there isn’t much we can do on a short term basis.

Migrating your VPN to a different datacenter might be your best solution.

For me , enabling ipv6 did work.
I have forgot which web forum discussing this topic helped me. Just search it.(seems to be v2ex)
But after I enabling ipv6 , I can use but can not use regular google search. And I have’t figure out why.
