How to deploy nodejs web with Mongodb database? And how to add a domain name? on DigitalOcean?

Posted on June 26, 2020

How does my domain remove the extension http://example.com:3000? I tried to use port 80 but it didn’t work. Using DigitalOcean for Nodejs is really more difficult than Heroku

Hi there @trinhhieuspace,

I would recommend following the steps here on how to set up your NodeJS application fro production:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-up-a-node-js-application-for-production-on-ubuntu-16-04

By using Nginx as a reverse proxy you will get rid of the :3000 port at the end of your URL.

Regarding MongoDB, you can install it by following the steps here:

Hope that this helps. Regards, Bobby
