Question

How to enable if modified since header on Ubuntu 14.04 server

Hi everyone,

I would like to know how can I enable the if modified since header on mu Ubuntu 14.04 server, I have checked via http://www.feedthebot.com/tools/if-modified/ and it clearly shows this feature is not enabled on my server.

The main reason I am curious to enable the feature is control the way search engines crawl my website.

The if-modified-since conditional header is implemented by mod_cache for apache. While not enabled by default I believe it should be included by default and can be enabled with

a2enmod cache
a2enmod disk_cache

followed by an apache restart.
