Question

how to host wiki outside DO ?

Hello,

I managed to get my wiki online, but I would like to host the newly made wiki outside digital ocean (on Netlify). I want to do that because otherwise DO asks me to transfer my Nameserver dns value which is not possible because the website is hosted on netlify, and I’m just used to it.

Hello, @marcantoinesegui

If your new site is already hosted with a third party you don’t have to make any changes. However, if you’ve made new changes, e.g developed a new site here on DigitalOcean and now want to switch providers you can simply migrate the content of your site over to the other hosting provider.

As for the DNS changes required to make the new site live from your DigitalOcean server. All you need to do is update the A record of your domain name. You don’t have to switch your nameservers to the DigitalOcean’s ones, a simple A record change will do the trick for you as well.

Hope that this helps! Regards, Alex
