The image upload issue in WordPress is typically caused by incorrect file permissions.

You’ll need to SSH to your droplet

ssh root@YourDropletIP

As soon as you are in, go to /wp-content/ folder in your DocumentRoot. Inside, you’ll find the uploads folder, which is where WordPress stores all your media uploads including images. You’ll need to make the permissions of the folder 755 and to all files as 644. You can achieve this by executing the following two commands

find /path/to/your/wp-contet/ -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;
find /path/to/your/wp-contet/ -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;
