Hi @Raied,

The process of installing PhpMyAdmin on CentOS 8 shouldn’t be any different from the one in CentOS 7. With that in mind, I’ll recommend checking out the following DigitalOcean tutorial on how you can achieve that

phpMyAdmin with Apache:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-and-secure-phpmyadmin-with-apache-on-a-centos-7-server

phpMyAdmin with Nginx:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-and-secure-phpmyadmin-with-nginx-on-a-centos-7-server

In the guides, it will be demonstrated how to install and secure a phpMyAdmin configuration on a CentOS 7/8 server. We will build this setup on top of the Nginx/Apache web server, which has a good performance profile and can handle heavy loads better than some other web servers.

Administering relational databases from the command line can be a daunting proposition for many people. A project called phpMyAdmin aims to alleviate this issue by providing an easy to use web interface for MySQL. In this guide, we'll discuss how to install and secure phpMyAdmin on top of a LEMP (Linux, Nginx, MariaDB, and PHP) stack on a CentOS 7 server.

Thank you for reply

The issue was on the system, something on php was broken so the host advice me to reinstall the server

Now i have new server with cent os 7, and i want the list of software that i must install on the server to make it host 4 website.

So what to install first ?

Thank you

  • Hi @Raied,

The most needed services would be PHP, Apache/Nginx and MySQL/MariaDB. Those are the necessary ones but you can always go the extra mile and install phpMyAdmin, zsh to make your terminal look cooler, etc.
