I just downloaded Ubuntu 64 bit to my laptop with 4 gb of ram. I am now trying to move my mail information including my contacts from my win 7 mach to my laptop. Both are connected to the internet the laptop wireless and the desktop ( win 7 mach ) is hard wired. I have a external HD and I can save my mail and contacts using Windows Live Mail utilities. I do not know if I can use these these to up date Thunderbird in Ubuntu. May be I should use a different Mai client ? I am a complete newbie to Ubuntu.
Thanks for your help or patience! milt03

This really doesn’t have to do with DigitalOcean, but I’ll help you, okay so you want to go in Ubuntu to Thunderbird and add the Microsoft account (@live.com, @hotmail.com or @outlook.com) you used with Windows Live Mail, then using IMAP Thunderbird will download the messages automatically from the Microsoft mail server.
It should also download the ones that you already read.
