This is what you’ll need to use
spring.datasource.url=jdbc:mysql://${MYSQL_HOST:localhost}:3306/db_example
You need to specify your spring.datasource.username and spring.datasource.password like the following
spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=update
spring.datasource.url=jdbc:mysql://${MYSQL_HOST:localhost}:3306/db_example
spring.datasource.username=springuser
spring.datasource.password=ThePassword
