How to point a second domain name in one VPS

Posted on July 25, 2019

Hello, I have a VPS that contains 2 domain names, the first is working properly but the 2nd domain is pointing to the root as if we pasted the ip of the VPS on the browser, knowing that the second site works properly on the link Preview on Plesk How to link the domain with its site? Thanks

Hello,

What you could do is the following:

  • Check for name resolution issues. To find out the IP address the virtual host uses, check hosting settings of the domain at Domains > example.com > Web Hosting Access. Then compare this IP address with the IP address the domain resolves into using any 3rd-party service like http://get-site-ip.com

If a mismatch is found, change the DNS records or reassign the domain to correct the IP address in Domains > DNS Settings. Contact hosting provider’s or domain registrar’s support if required.

  • Also check the error logs for this domain at:
/var/www/vhosts/system/example.com/logs/error_log

If both don’t help, I would recommend checking some other suggestions from the Plesk official website regarding this problem:

https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213372989--HUB-Website-shows-Plesk-default-page

Let me know how it goes!

Regards, Bobby
