Question

How to recover the mongosedb

So yesterday I had multiple issues with the server. The server crashed and stop responding. SO I had to go revert to a previous backup. this theoretically made the coders lose 3 days of coding that they had done. (don’t know much about github). Is there a way for them to get the github repository back? The issues happened Friday (thats when I had to revert it back) newest backup drop was 6/21/2022.

Hi there,

In case that you don’t have an earlier backup, the other option would be to check if the developers have a local copy of the code before it was uploaded to the server.

If your developers are not using GitHub, you could check with them if they have a copy of the code that they wrote the last few days on their local laptops.

As a future suggestion, you could use a managed backup solution like Snapshooter to take more frequent backups of your data:

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
