How to route Adonis in Nginx environment

Hi all,

This is my first time deploying to a server and appreciate it if you could help me. I have gone through several online tutorials and managed to setup node, pm2, MySQL, Nginx and all works perfectly fine. However, I am stuck with the routing from Nginx to Adonis. I tried to change the default file in ‘sites-available’ based on the AdonisJS documentation but received 502 bad gateway at the browser. ‘PM2 status’ and ‘sudo nginx -t’ shows no error. Before any amendment to the default file, the browse in IP or domain name works well with Nginx welcome message. Anyone has experience in this area? Many thanks in advanced.

Hi there,

Would you mind sharing the Nginx Server block configuration that you are using for your domain?

In most cases, if Nginx is returning 502, this would mean that the proxy_pass rule in your Nginx server block is set to a port that the backend service is not listening on.

You need to find out the port that your Adonis service is running on and update the proxy_pass rule to match that port.

Here is a quick video that explains how to fix a 502 error:
