Hi,
I am willing to get some technical information and guidelines in order to set up “Sentry.io” (open source) system on my own Ubuntu 18.04 server. “Sentry.io” is a bug reporting server-side solution. I heard there is a docker image for it as well but I do not have much of the skillset on server-side specifically related to Docker image setup. I know only basic server management commands. Will appreciate the steps I need to perform in order to setup this, with minimum hardware (VPS) requirements.

Hello,
There are a couple of ways of installing Sentry. You could either use:
https://docs.sentry.io/server/installation/docker/
https://docs.sentry.io/server/installation/python/
If you decide to go with Docker, you can follow the steps here:
https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-and-use-docker-on-ubuntu-18-04
https://github.com/getsentry/onpremise
./install.sh
in your local check-out.There may need to be modifications to the included
docker-compose.yml
file to accommodate your needs or your environment (such as adding GitHub credentials). If you want to perform these, do them before you run the install script. The recommended way to customize your configuration is using the files below, in that order:
config.yml
sentry.conf.py
.env
w/ environment variablesHope that this helps! Regards, Bobby
