How to setup Whm & Cpanel for sending email's to hotmail accounts

Posted on May 25, 2015

Hello I’m having trouble sending emails to hotmail accounts from my droplet with Whm&Cpanel after reading almost everything in the community (surely I have missed the post with the solution :( ) In my WHm&Cpanel the message appears as accepted but the message never shows in the hotmail acount. This is the message from Cpanel:

Delivery Event Details Event: success Sender User: clinicaip Sender Domain: domain.com Sender: info@domain.com Sent Time: May 25, 2015 5:23:17 PM Sender Host: localhost Sender IP: ::1 Authentication: dovecot_plain Spam Score: 0 Recipient: name@hotmail.com Delivered To: name@hotmail.com deliveryuser: remotedeliverydomain: Router: dkim_lookuphost Transport: dkim_remote_smtp Out Time: May 25, 2015 5:23:17 PM ID: 1YwuE400041o58 Delivery Host: mx1.hotmail.com Delivery IP: 65.55.92.152 Size: 783 bytes Result: Message accepted

I have setup dkim in cpanel email autentification and added it to the txt in the dns zone And the sfp: @:v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ~all (used the droplet ip)

I have tried several possibilities and this is the result:

  • Item -New mail from my droplet to hotmail (not arriving)
  • Item -New mail from hotmail to my droplet arrives without a problem
  • Item -Answer that new mail and it arrives to hotmail
  • Item -Answer that new mail and it arrives to hotmail
  • Item -Create a new mail after receiving the mail from hotmail and upon sendin it it dos not arrive to hotmail.

I really do not know what else I can configure to get this to work so any help will be appreciated.

Hey,

Without seeing the exact log details it’s hard to say, but like you’ve seen it may not show all the details needed. Beyond making sure your rDNS/PTR, SPF, and DKIM are set, I’d recommend reaching out to Microsoft Sender Information.

Happy coding,
