How to transfer email account

I have my email accounts on a domain hosted by hostmonster and want to move everything over, including emails, to a new virtual server on DigitalOcean. How can this be done? What is the easiest most reliable steps?

We're talking over 50,000 emails across 5 email accounts, most in archive folders.
