How to view website with files hosted on a droplet?

I was following this tutorial to transfer files using filezilla.
https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/droplets/how-to/transfer-files/

And the files are uploaded onto the droplet which I can see using ls on the command prompt.

But there is no information about how to view the website that I’ve just pushed onto the server.

I don’t understand how to view my website. I go to http://dropletIp/root/WebsiteName/index.html or http://dropletIp/WebsiteName/index.html and I just get a 404 Not Found error, despite the fact that the files do exist on the server.

Is there a certain folder where I should upload the files that isn’t the root folder?

I just want to be able to see the website in a browser hosted on the droplet.

Hello, @mail2561077a5f0fc26e303428

You can follow up on our tutorial on how to setup the LAMP stack on Ubuntu 20.04

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-linux-apache-mysql-php-lamp-stack-on-ubuntu-20-04

You need to set up a virtual host for your your_domain

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-linux-apache-mysql-php-lamp-stack-on-ubuntu-20-04#step-4-%E2%80%94-creating-a-virtual-host-for-your-website

If you’re not planning to use a domain but rather access the files using the droplet IP you can upload the files in the /var/www/html directory.

Alex

A “LAMP” stack is a group of open-source software that is typically installed together to enable a server to host dynamic websites and web apps. This term is actually an acronym which represents the Linux operating system, with the Apache web server. The site data is stored in a MySQL database, and dynamic content is processed by PHP. In this guide, we will install a LAMP stack on an Ubuntu 20.04 server.
