I have an existing LAMP installation in my Droplet. I would like to experiment with Docker. How will Docker affect my existing applications?

It shouldn’t at all. Things going on inside your docker containers will remain there. You won’t be able to map any ports exposed by a container to the ports already in use by Apache or your other services but you can get around this by simply using alternate public ports when you configure things.

I would recommend at least a 2GB droplet if you plan to be running a live LAMP service and running some docker containers. The MySQL service can use a lot of memory and what docker needs will depend entirely on what you’re running in it.
