The easiest way is to use program for FTP/SFTP uploads.
I recommend FileZilla also, SFTP is always better.
The default port for the SFTP is 22, so in FileZilla just use the SSH’s info (ip address, username & password)

Take a look at How To Install Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP) stack on Ubuntu 14.04 | DigitalOcean. You can skip PHP and MySQL if you do not need them.

One of the most common steps to take when setting up a new server is to install a LAMP stack. LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. These individual components, when used together, allow us to host dynamic web content like websites and web apps on our server. We will demonstrate how to install these pieces and configure a basic setup for Ubuntu 14.04 in this guide.
  • I did it now and another problem.

    Installed php, phpmyadmin, apache, mysql.

    Created database, upload my website files and I’m getting this error message:

    Connect Error (2003) Can’t connect to MySQL server on ‘myipaddress’ (111)

    I tried these solutions:

    1) In etc>mysql>my.cnf change these line:
    Didn’t work.

    2) mysql> GRANT ALL ON mydbname.* TO root@'myipaddress’
    -> IDENTIFIED BY 'mymysqlpassword’;

    It did'nt work, too.

    What can i do sometimes?

For Newbie, like me, I find, using a control panel is the best option..

cPanel or DA for paid and for single domain or couple of personal websites, try zPanel (now Sentora)..

On a clean installation of Ubuntu or CentOS, install the panel, it does the rest, like FTP, MySQL or Apache and such..
