There are a few scenarios that will cause issues with accessing the web console for your droplet:

  1. If you are behind a restrictive firewall. opening ports 6000-7000 will usually clear this up.

  2. If you are on a network with a double-NAT configuration.

  3. If you are behind a web-proxy (almost all mobile broadband connections configure a proxy).

  4. If you are on a satellite or other high latency connection as this can cause timeouts.

If your connection meets one of these criteria you may want to try from a different connection or over a VPN. If it does not, I would recommend opening a support ticket.

ok bro >>do you have program or something can access from it?

  • The vnc service used to power the web console is not accessible by using a stand-alone client. If you believe these ports are being blocked by your network administrator or ISP your best bet would be to use a VPN to reach the console, though using ssh or installing a vnc service on your droplet itself would be an easier option.

  • yeh my network administrator do not support that port

where i can get VPN ?

  • i mean Free VPN and it usefull for access console

  • You can purchase a VPN service from numerous providers or you can choose to set one up yourself on a droplet. The following tutorial will guide you in setting up the popular OpenVPN access server:

OpenVPN Access Server is a "full featured SSL VPN software solution that integrates OpenVPN server capabilities, enterprise management capabilities, simplified OpenVPN Connect UI, and OpenVPN Client software packages that accommodate Windows, MAC, and Linux OS environments." Install OpenVPN Access Server on your Ubuntu 12.04 VPS.
  • my ios now is windows >>

    any VPN for it

last your answer talking about ubuntu-12-04

  • OpenVPN has clients for Windows as well as Linux. A VPN service will tunnel your internet connection through a server that does not have the same port blocking that you are encountering. There are a few services out there that provide free or extremely low cost VPN services but I would not be able to recommend one from personal experience.

The tutorial I linked lets you set up your own VPN server which you can connect to using the Windows client available at

  • thanks man
    i will try now.
