Question

I created a droplet but I am confused on why floating IP's are useful. Does the default IPv4 of your droplet ever change?

I am essentially asking if the default IPv4 is dynamic and will change.

Hi there @bigpey,

All Droplets come with 1 static IPv4 address.

Regarding what floating IP addresses are used for, I would recommend going through this blog post here for a quick introduction on how to use floating IP addresses:

Hope that this helps! Regards, Bobby
