I have a scripts that requires running cgi outside of cgi-bin on CentOS. How do I allow this to work?

Posted on April 2, 2019

I have a PERL script that requires CGI be enabled to run outside of the cgi-bin. I have turned on the options in WHM and added the enabler in my htaccess file, but I still get an error that this is not allowed.

Hello,

I’ve had similar issue in the past and I’ve managed to get it working with the following rule I’m my htaccess file in my home directory:

AddHandler cgi-script .cgi .pl
Options +ExecCGI

If it is still not working, I would suggest checking your logs for more detailed errors.

Hope that this helps! Regards, Bobby
