This sounds like a human error with catastrophic outcomes. Unfortunately DO will not be able to provide your data back I think. To prevent this kind of issues / failures make sure you always prepare for this. By for example taking the following measurements:
- Analyse your systems and determine your critical / valuable assets
- Always backup valuable data (if possible at multiple locations)
- Create an automated process for disaster recovery
