I need help setting up multiple site in one droplet. Not using Wordpress.

Posted September 20, 2014 2.3k views

I am on a basic droplet and and trying to figure out how to set up multiple sites.
I have seen the setting up two Wordpress sites, and got most of the way through and things went wonky. Do I need to install MySQL if I do not plan on running the BLOG?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

You can follow this tutorial to set up multiple websites on a single droplet: How To Set Up Apache Virtual Hosts on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS | DigitalOcean.

You only need to install MySQL if your website uses it. If it’s a static website or if it doesn’t use a database, you don’t need MySQL.

The Apache web server is the most popular way to serve web content on the internet. Apache has the ability to serve multiple domains from a single server by using a mechanism called "virtual hosts". If a virtual host is configured correctly for each domain, the web server can correctly route traffic to the appropriate files based on the domain name requested. In this guide, we'll demonstrate how to configure Apache virtual hosts on an Ubuntu 14.04 VPS.
