Hi, my developer set me up with a digital ocean account and I have no idea how it works. Whatsoever! I am no longer able to get into contact with. i have phoned several developers and none of them are familiar with DO.
I went as far as setting up a new hosting account because they promised to migrate my files for and apparently they have not done it correctly. I really need to get my files so that I can give them to a new developer.
If somebody can get into my DO account and zip up my files and send them to me I will pay them for their time. Please I need help in getting these files!!!

DO works like any other cloud VPS. If they say that they can’t work on DO because they are not familiar with it, then you might want to rethink their qualifications. They might only be familiar with shared hosting, and Cpannel. But then shared hosting might be all you need.
Depending on how your system was set up, your website files are probably under /var/www or under /home/<YourUserName>
Your databases are probably mysql, and can be accessed by doing a mysqldump You can look at available mysql databases with the command mysql -u root -p

Hey friend!
I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you. Do you know what kind of application your developer created (Python, Ruby, PHP, etc)? If moving it out of our platform is the need, I might suggest a system administrator over a developer, as moving a software stack from one place to another will generally be more their expertise. That said, we’d love to see if there is some way that we can help you to resolve the problem without the need for such a significant task, and maybe keep you as a customer :)
Are there any specific problems that are leading you to the conclusion that moving the application is the best path forward?
Kind Regards, Jarland
