My Ubuntu 12.10 instance failed with the following errors. According to DO support, it is an issue with my VM, not the host. Did anyone else experience this? I think it is a bit dodgy, as it was quite a vanilla install running almost idle (apart from a single "wget" cronjob once an hour). At the moment I am running fio tests to see whether I can recreate the issue (according to this thread; https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=549981 ) [1544221.948170] ata1.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen [1544221.948528] ata1.00: failed command: WRITE DMA [1544221.948742] ata1.00: cmd ca/00:08:48:6b:47/00:00:00:00:00/e1 tag 0 dma 4096 out [1544221.948742] res 40/00:01:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 Emask 0x4 (timeout) [1544221.949336] ata1.00: status: { DRDY } [1544221.949736] ata1: soft resetting link [1544222.108664] ata1.01: NODEV after polling detection [1544222.109957] ata1.00: configured for MWDMA2 [1544222.109964] ata1.00: device reported invalid CHS sector 0 [1544222.109998] sd 0:0:0:0: >[sda] [1544222.110007] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE [1544222.110011] sd 0:0:0:0: >[sda] [1544222.110016] Sense Key : Aborted Command [current] [descriptor] [1544222.110020] Descriptor sense data with sense descriptors (in hex): [1544222.110022] 72 0b 00 00 00 00 00 0c 00 0a 80 00 00 00 00 00 [1544222.110035] 00 00 00 00 [1544222.110040] sd 0:0:0:0: >[sda] [1544222.110042] Add. If you have a ticket # I can look into it further for you and see if there are any other possible issues that may have caused a problem.

Thanks
This is happened to my droplet as well.
