I screwed up nginx on my droplet. Can I kill that droplet and replace it with a new one (start over). Or, does that cost me extra money?

I am just trying to set up a simple static website, RStudio server, and Shiny server. When trying to configure hitps, I mess up and now I can’t even get nginx to launch.

You only get charged for what you use. So if you kill the dud droplet you can spin a new one up and billing will only be for the new droplet and any additional billable services you may use - ie load balancer, snapshots, spaces etc…

I would just start your nginx configurable over since that’s easier.

nginx -t

Will tell you of any errors
