If I am under DDOS attack , can I just change nameservers to Cloudflare to protect my VPS?

I can not use cloudflare protection because some scripts do not work on my server because of Cloudflare server timeout. So my question is, if someone attack my VPS with DDOS , can I just change the nameservers to Cloudflare and protect my VPS instantly after NS propaganda ?

Hey friend,

That would not work, as changing your NS records will take a lot of time before it is seen by other servers that have recently cached a DNS entry for your domain.
