In order to change the configuration of a managed database cluster you need to use the DigitalOcean API rather than running the statements directly with the
doadmin
user.You can refer to the documentation here:

For the
innodb_lock_wait_timeout
configuration, you can pass an integer value between 1 and 3600.Your request body will look as follows:
