Installation of Web Server Necessary?

I have just create my droplet configured my DNS pointing to the right place,
should I install any web server like apache to view a static html page in the root of my droplet?
Sorry for my ignorance, but I never have a linux server and never used digitalocean instances.

Yes, you will need to install a webserver in order to serve any kind of website from your Droplet.

Check out How To Install Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP) stack on Ubuntu 14.04. You can/should skip MySQL and PHP if you’re hosting a static site.
