Installing Ajenti on an already running Magento website with LAMP

Posted on February 29, 2016

Hi Experts,

I am looking forward to add ajenti on my website which is already running on a LAMP and a fully functional website. I will be needing Ajenti to create a number of subdomains for the already running domain.

Can you please advice me on how to move ahead with the installation.

Thanks!!

Hello,

While it’s recommended that you install Ajenti on a fresh droplet, it will often work on an existing one. You can use this guide and it should work.

I would recommend backing up your data and taking a snapshot. I personally would even test on a snapshot. Make a 2nd droplet from a snapshot of your production server. Then install Ajenti on the new droplet to test. That way if anything breaks, you can figure it out on a test setup.

I tried this with a droplet I had a running LAMP stack and active site and it installed without any errors. While your results may vary, you should give it a try.
