I have package in laravel ([https://github.com/barryvdh/laravel-dompdf](DOM pdf)), which required ext-gd to be install on the machine.
How can achieve this.
I have tried putting it on the composer.json file of the project, No luck
{
"require": {
"ext-gd": "*"
}
}
Also the app platform does not allow you to run apt install php8.0-gd

{ “require”: { “ext-gd”: “*” } }
This is the solution, I had to compose update ext-gd for it work though
If you are using pretty much any PHP extension. You need to complete the following
https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/php-support#extensions - Look at this link and find your extension. (If it’s not on this list you cant use it)
Go into your composer.json file and update your require section. As an example “require”: { “php”: “^7.2”, “ext-json”: “", “ext-zip”: “”, “ext-imagick”: “”, “ext-gd”: "”,
Run Composer Update to update your lock file Upload your changes to GitHub

Hello there,
When using PHP apps in the App Platform we recommend using Composer to configure them. This would allow you to specify GD Library in your composer.json file and have it installed.
If the composer is set to include the GD option then it should pull the image with it enabled. If the composer isn’t an option you can use a Dockerfile instead and have it install the GD library during the build process.
To install PHP GD you would need to use Composer with your app to specify that version.
