This package is handled by PECL. To install it you can..
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install php-pear php5-dev
pear install trader
Do these instructions still apply in Jan 2018?
I am really thinking about the php5-dev
Yes it indeed depends on the version of PHP you run. You can find out the version by typing this in the command line:
To keep it easy you can simply leave out the version number which will make your OS query the correct one (in most cases) from the default repositories. The whole installation would look like this:
apt-get install php-pear php-dev libcurl3-openssl-dev
pecl install trader
I am getting this error while i am trying to install phpmyadmin on my droplet with latest Ubuntu Lamp droplet. I tried many different ways but still getting same error.
I would really appreciate any help
An error occurred while installing the database:
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
If at this point you choose "retry", you will be prompted with all the configuration
questions once more and another attempt will be made at performing the operation.
"retry (skip questions)" will immediately attempt the operation again, skipping all
questions. If you choose "abort", the operation will fail and you will need to
downgrade, reinstall, reconfigure this package, or otherwise manually intervene to
continue using it. If you choose "ignore", the operation will continue, ignoring further
errors from dbconfig-common.
I bought a php script on Code canyon, and it was running ok on my localhosts, but when i uploaded the files to digital ocean, i noticed that the .php files where not being executed, after some investigation i discovered that my server does not recognise the php files, because they start with just <?, instead of <?php.
**Is it possible to change PHP to execute .php files that start with just <? **
I running ubuntu 14.04, with php 5.5.9
