is anyone having bandwidth issues with their droplet or is it just me?

Posted on February 7, 2024

Hello all. I have a 80 gb droplet running a couple projects. Randomly the latency of my web servers spiked massively. Things that used to consistently complete in 50 ms are now all over the place, sometimes taking over 10s to respond! The CPU/disk/memory are OK, load averages are flat. No db’s to speak of, even my SSH terminal is sluggish to point of being unusable.

All this started very randomly.

I created a ticket about an hour ago, no response yet. The status page is all green for DO. I restarted the droplet, no change. All out of ideas, nothing changed but randomly the latency on everything is hitting the fan as if the download speed dropped. I pinged random host from ssh/droplet itself and latency is in ms/very good.

past 1 hour chart.

Hi @computerexel,

Sounds like you might be impacted by https://status.digitalocean.com/incidents/y2cm9wm1bvv7 if your Droplet is in the NYC regions?

- Matt.

Where are you located? We’re getting really really bad bandwidth in multiple places in Atlanta. However our people in California and Washington state are getting amazing bandwidth. Our droplet is in New York.
