Is it possible to create multiple private, non connected networks under one login?

Posted on August 23, 2017

I want to create a new network separate from the one I already have. I know I could create a private network by changing the configuration in each server, but since these are virtual machines, and those IP addresses need to be assigned, I am interested in making sure I don’t create a problem.

Any ideas?

Do I need to create a separate login?

Hi there,

I just came across this question. This should be achievable with the new DigitalOcean VPC networks.

VPC networks are completely isolated from both other customers and other VPCs on your own account. See here for more details:

https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/networking/vpc/

It’s also worth pointing out that DigitalOcean private networks provided account level isolation since July 18, 2018. The big changes with the release of VPCs are:

  • You can create multiple VPCs that are isolated from each other
  • You can define the IP range for your VPCs yourself
