Question

Issue logging into the server using my SSH key because my key is refused by the server

I’m done adding the droplet and my domain but I could not login into the server using the ssh key because my key is refused by the server? How can I get the the root password of the server? or do you know why my ssh key is refused by the server?

Hello, @ethanShark

You can reset the root password for your droplet from the control panel. Once you’re logged in go to Droplets --> Click on the Droplet name --> Click on the access tab/menu --> Click the “Reset root password” button

You will receive an email shortly containing the new root password. You can also check this link:

https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/droplets/resources/console/#reset-the-root-password

In the meantime you can always access your droplet using the console from the control panel. You can double check that your ssh key is stored/present in the authorized_keys file. If the key is not this file you can add it and then try to access the droplet again.

Hope this helps!
