Kernel Update on Ubuntu 12.04

December 20, 2013 2.6k views
My Ubuntu 12.04 amd 64 says there's a new kernel (3.8.0.34) that is kept back (needs dist-upgrade to install it). ¿Do I have to wait to dist-upgrade it untill I see it available in the droplets Control Panel?

Currently the kernels are updated by us (i.e. you cannot boot your droplet using your own kernel). It'll be available in the control panel soon.
Alejandro,

It's still a good idea to execute:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade && sudo apt-get -y autoremove

every once in a while.
I do sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade more less every day.

Thank you very much for your answers.
