LAMP Stack password

I installed a LAMP on Ubuntu 12.04 using "Application" when creating the droplet I received an email containing my root password. buy mysql is refusing to take this password and is constantly tell the password is wrong

MySQL's root password is not the same as your droplet's root password.

Log in to your droplet via SSH and it will tell you how to change MySQL's root password.
