Have you tried performing a root password reset from the control panel? Click on your droplet and then Access and you will see the option to reset the root password. This will send a new password to you via email.
Got absolutely the same trouble. Changing root password from control panel is followed by asking to set root password again immediately and then after logging in with my new password i see “Login incorrect” obscure error.
I’m having the exact same problem. I reset the root password using the Reset Root Password function. Then at first login via the VNC connection it prompts me to imediatly change the password. Then on the next login I always receive “Login incorrect”
I got the exact same thing, I’ve reset 3 times my password and delete and recreate my droplet with same problem. I think I will wait tomorrow… I don’t thing we are the problem.
Oh, my error :
I have the same problem. Any solution?
I have the same problem
Ok, you enter the wrong place
(current) UNIX password: this line you should enter the password you got from mail
@oyty is correct, when prompted to change the password you’re meant to retype the default one first and then the new one.
YES! I ran into the same issue because I entered a new password right away instead of retyping the default one first. Would’ve been helpful for a message to indicate that I had entered an incorrect password.
Wish I was as lucky as everyone else here. This didn’t work for me.
When I’m promoted to enter my (current) UNIX password it just goes straight back to the login prompt.
I have typed it in manually and carefully many times. I have pasted it in many times (because this worked for reset password that was emailed to me).
What else can I try here?
I’ve been trying to access files on my new droplet for 2 days. It’s beyond words.
